About Ms. Connor, a.k.a. Miz Connor Ms. Connor was born in West Islip, Long Island, and grew up in Troy, NY (Troy High School Class of '91!). She has one sister, or Seester, named Meghan, one Seester-in-Law, named Nujemi (pronounced "new yay-mee") and two parents, Ken and Carol Connor. Dad has recently retired from teaching Electrical Computer and Systems Engineering and serving as an enthusiastic member of Lighting Enabled Systems and Applications (LESA) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and Mom is retired, which means she can spend more time with her granddaughter, my niece, Harper. My Seester (Harper's mom) is an ER Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI.
Ms. Connor graduated with a BA in English from Oberlin College (Class of '95), and earned her M.Ed., from Lesley University in 2004. Ms. Connor has spent her entire teaching career at the Cyrus E. Dallin Elementary School, since the fall of 2004. Before that, she worked in the Editorial and Production Department at Harvard Business School Publishing (now Harvard Business Publishing) and before that she worked in the Editorial Department at Blackwell Science Publishing (now John Wiley and Sons). Ms. Connor has one cat, Gary (at left), who is named after SpongeBob's snail. She loves the Green Bay Packers (Go Pack, GO!), the Boston Red Sox, and the Boston Bruins. When she's not teaching, Ms. Connor is probably reading fantasy novels, watching movies, singing barbershop with her quartet (Bari'd Treasure) or chorus (Boston Skyline Chorus), doing yoga, hiking, riding her bike, or sleeping!! |
